When you're in the racing business, you can't simply decide to stay
home because the weather turns rough! Runners...particularly the
type who like to run trail races, seem to show up in droves as the
weather gets ugly. That was the case for this race as over 125 brave
souls decided to tackle a challenging 7 mile course through the woods.
This was no ordinary trail run though. The temperature started out that
morning at around 25 degrees with a wind chill of 15. There was 2
inches of mud, slush, snow, and ice already on the ground. To make it
even worse, an ice storm was in progress coating the ground and the
runners. It's hard to imagine that anyone would want to run in those
conditions...but run they did!
Of course, the runners expected to receive their times as they crossed
the finish line. This is where a timing system can really show what it's
made of. The ground at the finish line was extremely rocky and
uneven. In addition, there was mud, slush and snow...and there was
an ice storm in progress. Because Jaguar requires no mats, wires, or
plastic ramps, it's ideal for these type of races. We simply placed one

immediately, and we were able to publish the results to the race web site without delay.
