Electrical Engineering Intern
About the role
We're looking for an electrical engineering intern to own the electronics behind our products — designing the circuits and boards, choosing the components, and bringing hardware to life on the bench. You'll take designs from schematic to a working board you can hold, test, and put into a real product.
This role is what you make of it. We're looking for a self-starter who can take the reins and run without hand-holding — someone who will make the position their own and help shape the future of our electrical design and hardware as we grow. We'll give you real ownership and trust; we expect you to run with it.
We're hiring for the long term. We want someone who can grow with us and step into a permanent, senior role as the company scales.
What you'll do
- Design circuits and lay out printed circuit boards (PCBs) — from schematic capture through board layout
- Select components, read datasheets, and spec parts for performance, cost, and availability
- Build, bring up, and test prototypes — soldering, bench testing, and hands-on debugging
- Validate circuits with multimeters, oscilloscopes, and power supplies, and document your results
- Work closely with our firmware and mechanical team to integrate electronics into the full product
- Help improve our electrical design, documentation, and test processes as we grow
- Contribute to electronics for both existing products and new prototypes

- A self-starter who takes initiative and works independently — we'll hand you ownership, not step-by-step direction
- A solid grasp of electronics fundamentals — analog and digital circuits, power, and how to read and build a schematic
- Hands-on experience building and testing real circuits — we want proof you've made things work (a portfolio or projects strongly preferred)
- Comfort with soldering and basic bench equipment (multimeter, oscilloscope, power supply)
- Currently pursuing or recently completed a degree in Electrical or Computer Engineering (or a related field, or equivalent hands-on experience)
- A great attitude, strong work ethic, and eagerness to learn and adapt
Nice to have
- PCB design and layout tools — KiCad, Altium, or Eagle
- Experience with microcontrollers and interfacing sensors, motors, or displays
- Understanding of power electronics, batteries, or wireless (BLE/Wi-Fi)
- Familiarity with design for manufacturing and test for electronics
- Some firmware or embedded coding (C/C++) — a nice bridge to our firmware work
- Prior maker, lab, or shop experience
